"I watched the dvd as soon as I got it in the mail, I was so excited. It has unleashed a whole new passion in me and my partner is beginning to think the wacom pen is glued to my hand. Painting photos through corel painter really does put another dimension into it, and I really hope to be able to produce some emotion-invoking portraits!!
If it wasn't for your dvd I'd be at a lost with corel painter. I only got it 2 months ago, same as the wacom tablet and I really didn't know where to start with those 2 things. But you have blown me away with your skills! I really wasn't expecting to be able to use corel painter straight away. I managed to paint 3 portraits this weekend!! Ha, how's that for keen?"

"I have been meaning to email you. I had read all the rave reviews and from that thought ,they must be good. However, there was no way that anyone could put into words that would explain well enough how GREAT they are!! I have so enjoyed each one! I have lots to learn, lots to practice but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!! You truly are gifted. I have raved about them on several websites i belong to. THis is truly the best money i have spent in a long while!!!! better than any plugin, action ect!!! The only problem i have is that you get me so excited while watching that i want to go work on my photographs BEFORE getting my orders out for others!! laughing!!"
"I bought Susi Lawsons CD 'Portrait Magic' and was amazed at my very first attempt using her technique.(See it here!) This is something that I have been wanting to do for years, but the Photoshop filters just don't cut it. Susi's technique is the best kept secret out, and the only real way to make a photo look like a real painting. I can not believe how happy I am with this technique and could not have possibly done it without buying this CD. The entire process took about 3 hours, as you actually 'paint' the photo.
The end result printed on canvas is STUNNING and it looks just like a real painting. People walk into my house and their mouths drop open, it's that good, and that realistic. Thank-you Susi for sharing your secrets!
I highly suggest that you buy this CD and you too can make that special photo into a breathtaking painting on canvas."

"I am a recent convert to Corel Painter. After spending many years painting with traditional wet media, I decided to catch up with technology and paint with Corel Painter. I ordered several different tutorials and found that they were far too technically advanced for a beginner. The instructions would come too quickly and important key strokes were not shown. This was frustrating. Then, I discovered Portrait Magic by Susi Lawson. This was a breath of fresh air. She taught slowly and logically and never failed to show every key stroke gently guiding me along the path to actually both use and enjoy Corel Painter. She made it easy to grab an image and turn it into a painting. I highly recommend Portrait magic to anyone who wants to learn Corel Painter IX in a painless and useful manner. "

"I got my cd today, and I have gone through a few tutorials, and they are
GREAT! I would definitely recommend it to anyone I know! I have friends on
other photo websites, and will tell them about it. All the tips in PS are
great too, and very helpful.
I am excited for tomorrow to come, so I can practice some more techniques,
lol I am so tired right now from practicing all night. :-)
I think it would be great if you did a landscape magic too, I would buy that
as well!
Thanks again, and I am so glad you made this cd!"

"I highly recommend Susi's new CD "Portrait Magic!". It is a wonderful tool packed full of helpful and easy to understand advice on creating your own painted masterpiece using Photoshop and Corel Painter. I am a long time fan of Susi's work and am so thankful that she is willing to share her talents. The CD is addictive and fun! A wonderful set of tutorials that should be part of every photographer's collection! -Donna Eaton
"After falling in love with Susi's work, I was thrilled when I learned she
was offering a tutorial DVD! I loved watching and learning from these
tutorials, she shares so many GREAT ideas and techniques! Her DVD takes
you through Painter and Photoshop step by step in a clear and organized
manner, taking much of the confusion out of the painterly process. I feel
Susi was very generous in the many tips and tricks she shares on this DVD!
Such a wonderful value!"

"Susi, these lessons are worth every penny! I love the way you go straight to the techniques that we all need to learn to make the painting process easier! I now know what brushes to choose and how to go about using them, you have saved me an enormous amount of time that I would have spent trying to figure this out on my own! I can't thank you enough!"
Rob Hunley, Ca.
"Susi I've spent most of my day with you and feel like I know you ;-) Have gone through each and every tute and enjoyed every one of them. Really love the hair tips and the tip about adding noise before taking the image into Painter. What a great idea! The hair tips actually help me with painting my dogs, something I could never quite grasp until today. And I smoothed away wrinkles from my face much easier than using the clone or spot healing tools like I used before ;-) The Dragonizer action is a look I've been longing for and I appreciate you adding that into the mix.
I think you've done an excellent job and feel that this was definitely money well spent.
Hopefully this won't be your last DVD. How bout a "Landscape Magic" next ;-)
Thanks for your hard work. Your easy going nature make these videos a pleasure to view"

"Just a note to express my appreciation for Portrait Magic. I received the DVD a few days ago and have reviewed all of the lessons. I am very pleased with the content and your tutorial will be a big help. With the aid of Portrait Magic I believe that I can now get a good return on my investment in Painter IX and Wacom tablet. Thank you very much Susi for sharing some of your secrets with us." All the best, Marcel
I recently purchased Susi Lawson's Portrait Magic DVD and I LOVE IT! I am still pretty new to Photoshop and Painter but Susi's instructions are very simple to follow and produce amazing results. The very first attempt I made to use her techniques on one of my own photos turned out great and I couldn't believe how little time it took. I ordered the Photoshop Magic DVD and can't wait to recieve it. I am anxious to learn even more from Susi. She is a very talented artist and teacher.

Dear Susi:
Hi! Oh my, I was so eager to recieve your dvd´s and start

I know its not perfect, but its a beginning and I really
thank you for that...
Best Regards and many happy clicks!

Wow Susi, what a great set of tutorials. They are interesting in many ways,
besides the obvious one of guiding us in artistic techniques and tools. I
notice you are very willing to draw on your image directly, while the
computer
nerd types will strictly use layer masks, to avoid "damaging" pixels. We
keep
all sorts of layers, while you prefer a neater work space. We sharpen at
the
very end, after resizing for printing, and you sharpen somewhere in the
middle
of the process, and it works.
You use tools we have been turning our noses up at, such as dodge, burn,
smudge, erase, and sponge and it works very well. I think our way of making
feathered selection masks does not work very well for many of the kind of
changes you are making.
I think I am much more open to new ways than many I know, but still you seem
to be prying me out of the dried mud, and saying "come over here and see
what
you could do this way". "By the way, don't forget to take pictures of the
mud
and other stuff before you leave". I see that you act like a painter, work
like a painter, and get beautiful "painted" results. I watched both of your
Photoshp tutorials beginning to end this weekend, so I could get used to
you,
your tools, and methods, and eliminate the wows and surprises so I have a
chance a really absorbing your lessons. I really liked the oval face, and
parts placement lesson that you do for kindergarteners. Made me realize
that
my art training did not get even that far.
It did not occur to me that the cracks in that background were mud. When I
first saw the image on the CD a little light went on and several more have
since then. Erasing to get that torn paper look just amazed me. It is so
simple!
I felt a little dumb for not thinking of it by myself. I did know about getting clouds,
though because we have very plain sky at times and it's nice to replace it
with a more interesting variation sometimes, and nearer the horizon it gets
ugly cream white, or blows out. The colored sky surprised me. It's
supposed
to be hard to find the right color. Your sense of color and knowledge about
how to get good, or correct, colors in the palette just amazes me.
